The following measures are the basis by which UMFK OER Grant applications are scored to determine if the proposal will be funded. All applications are reviewed and scored by the UMFK OER Committee. Refer to the Guides home tab for grant categories and amounts.
Because the primary goal of the UMFK OER Grant program is student savings, the student savings per grant dollar as a result of the UMFK OER Grant is used as part of the rubric to score applications.
For instructors who are teaching classes for which there is no commercial text available to provide a cost, $117 is the SPARC average we've adopted for the cost of the text.
Savings = ((Cost of current or expected commercial textbook) x (expected enrollment for one year)) / (grant amount)
Scoring = 1-3
1 - No
2 - Yes
1 - specific to only your class?
2 - useful to instructors for other sections and/or other classes at UMFK?
3 - used not only by other instructors at UMFK but also by instructors on other campuses?

($500 - Adopt; from the formula)

3 - Student savings per grant dollar: > $25
($1,000 - Adapt; from the formula)
1 - Student savings per grant dollar: <= $4
