Why Use Zotero?

Free accounts for all users, whether or not you’re affiliated with a university, you can register for a free account. This means that even after you graduate and are no longer affiliated with UMaine-Machias, you will still have access to your citations.

It works well with Library resources, such as academic databases and non-library sites. This means you can have citations from the New York Times as easily as you can save citations from web of science.

Zotero allows you to format your bibliography with over 10,000 citation styles with a click of a button, saving you time and energy.

Your desktop library can be synched to an online account so you can access your citations from any computer with an Internet connection!

The librarians at UMM’s Merrill Library are proficient with Zotero and can help you if you run into trouble.
