Brief overview

The following shows a few of the differences in the new APA 7th edition as compared to the old 6th edition and pertaining mostly to the in-text citation and reference formats.

The reference pages refer to the Concise Guide to APA Style: The official APA style guide for students, 7th edition unless noted that the reference comes from the APA Manual (7th ed.).

Two major changes in formatting your paper - for students only - not meant for professional papers.

Page numbering and running head	Running head was required with the title and page number. First page numbering was different from the rest of the paper.	There is no running head and page number is top right.
Abstract	Required	No longer required (unless required by instructor)
Font type	Pre-determined	Not pre-determined as long as it is legible. May also be specified by your instructor.
